reintegrating The conscious + SUBCONSCIOUS,
mind + Body + spirit, past + future,
in order to reclaim peace in the present
Rosewood Psychotherapy + Wellness is dedicated to helping you reclaim peace by restoring balance in your life. This means that we not only help you recognize where imbalance may be occurring, but also understand the experiences and ‘stories’ that may have contributed to its manifestation. We offer a highly personalized approach to treatment and strive to treat individuals, not symptoms. Meaning we make it our mission to first and foremost understand you and the context in which your symptoms are occurring before helping to alleviate them.
We then teach tools and strategies for you to use to sustain your journey of healing far beyond your therapy. We’ve developed an integrative approach that utilizes both evidence-based therapy and intuitive mindfulness practices in order to help you discover the amazing things your mind and body are capable of, learn techniques that invite balance into your life, and integrate those techniques so that you can truly achieve mental wellness.

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? - Tupac Shakur
The road back to the self can be long and winding. Individual therapy is the opportunity to engage in open, genuine conversation, to enter into a one-on-one partnership, so you don’t have to walk the road alone. As part of our relationship-context-driven approach, we strive first and foremost to understand. We will take an intentional dive into your experiences and all the components — mind, body, and spirit — that make you, you, in order to glean awareness and insight around any psychological issues or stressors, emotional pain, and behavioral challenges that have contributed to feelings of imbalance. The objective is to ultimately restore a sense of balance and wholeness by freeing you from the ‘stories’ we so often tell ourselves about our lives. Because you deserve the freedom that comes from knowing and accepting the authentic self that exists within. You deserve to bloom no matter where you’ve been planted.
This is for you if:
• you are eager to facilitate healing through genuine dialogue
• you are looking for one-on-one connection that provides a safe, confidential environment for co-constructing solutions
• you want to walk away with sustainable tools for healing
• you crave a sense of personal mastery
• you are ready to feel whole

If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together. - African Proverb
There is nothing quite like feeling heard and seen and held by a community who genuinely ‘gets it.’ Our Group Therapy is composed of confidential support groups that are offered periodically throughout the year. They are designed to be specific to certain demographics or topics, and consequently cultivate a space for individuals who face similar concerns to join together. In participating in group healing, you receive the benefit of being exposed to new perspectives and different stages of journeys that reflect your own. A sense of belonging can do wonders when you are on a journey to wellness.
This is for you if:
• you want to normalize your experience by talking and listening to others who have been where you are
• you are eager to put your own challenges into perspective and receive feedback in a safe and encouraging setting
• you seek greater understanding of yourself and an opportunity to relieve emotions that have long been held
• you like the idea of developing coping skills in a group setting
• you crave the sense of belonging that comes from a community who truly understands
Note: Enrollment in a group requires registration, an initial screening with a group facilitator, and an initial deposit. Once a group is “closed” no additional members can join. This protects the safety, confidentiality, and continuity of the group.

Maybe you are searching among the branches, for what only appears in the roots. -Rumi
Healing doesn’t have to be a journey you walk alone. Sometimes we find ourselves in a relationship with a loved one that could use a little repair. We help you develop empathy, set boundaries, improve communication, and resolve generational difficulties. One of our specialties is working with family dyads (or a group of two people). This type of therapy was designed to allow you to engage in therapy in the company of a family member, but still abides by our dedication to celebrating the individual. We help both members free themselves from their family’s processes to better define themselves. This means you feel confident in having differing opinions and values while still being able to stay emotionally connected to each other. We help you treat the issue at the root so every branch has the opportunity to flourish.
This is for you if:
• you are a parent or caregiver looking to enhance your relationship with your son or daughter of any age
• you are eager to restore balance and improve communication with a family member
• you are looking to sit with your loved one and work on restoring your relationship together

It was when I stopped searching for home within others and lifted the foundations of home within myself, I found there were no roots more intimate than those between a mind and body that have decided to be whole. -Rupi Kaur
EFT, more commonly referred to as ‘tapping,’ is one of the methods by which we strive to increase the mind-body connection and your overall sense of wholeness. It is a technique that exists at the intersection of western and eastern medicinal philosophies combining Mindfulness, Imaginal or Brief Exposure, Acupressure, Somatic Activation, and more. It uses the body’s meridian energy system to release and transform uncomfortable emotions and stored trauma. Together we will mindfully vocalize thoughts and feelings while gently tapping with our fingertips along our own meridian points. These are the same points used in acupuncture, so you might think of this as acupuncture without the needles!
This is for you if:
• you’re interested in learning a new wellness tool that can help you achieve faster results in your healing journey
• you want to release and transform uncomfortable emotions such as anxiety, sadness, guilt, frustration, etc.
• you want to heal symptoms of PTSD or the effects of an emotional trauma(s)
• you are eager to increase self-esteem, clear thinking, and encourage positive feelings
• you’re open to developing your mind-body connection while acquiring a wellness tool with great potential

Toys are children’s words, and play is their language. -Gary Landreth
While you’re never too young to experience emotional distress, you can be too young to have the cognitive and language skills to voice it. Play Therapy is our solution to this communication barrier. Because children communicate through their behavior and play, we provide a safe environment built on trust in which they can experience the natural self-guided and self-healing process that is play therapy. The themes that organically arise during these sessions will be interpreted by the therapist present, an individual that has been professionally trained to understand the symbolic language of children’s play, in order to understand the child’s experiences, thoughts, feelings, and interpretations of the world. In addition to exploring their inner world and helping them develop better ways of coping, play therapy provides an opportunity for the child to gain a sense of mastery over themselves and their environment. In turn, this helps to develop their self-esteem, problem-solving abilities, and coping skills. We use a child-centered approach, because children are meant to play and their healing journey should reflect that.
This is for you + your child if:
• your child is presenting with signs of excessive worry, sadness, frequent nightmares, or moodiness
• your child is experiencing somatic symptoms (i.e. frequent headaches or stomach aches)
• you have witnessed a sudden change in academic performance, social interaction, or eating + sleeping patterns

• your child struggles with self-confidence, self-image, or making friends
• you are willing to be actively involved in the treatment process
• your child is 5+ and you are eager for them to experience therapy and counseling in a safe, child-centered environment tailored to their needs and communication style

Sometimes it takes you a long time to sound like yourself. -Miles Davis
There is no denying that the adolescent stage of life comes with its own unique set of challenges. Simultaneously on the cusp of both childhood and adulthood, adolescents must struggle to find their identity while battling the onslaught of emotional, intellectual, and physical changes that occur at this time. In respect to this, we integrate talk therapy used in Individual Therapy and creative interventions that utilize games, art, storytelling, etc. As with all of our therapy offerings, trust and safety form the foundation. Without these key ingredients, we could not expect anyone to feel comfortable enough to share. With tailored therapy, we help teens to manage and regulate their emotions, develop stress tolerance skills, and learn social skills. We also help fortify their relationships with their parent or caregiver by helping each to support and communicate with each other. Despite all of the challenges this stage of life presents, your adolescent deserves to feel confident in their skin and in their ability to handle whatever life throws their way.
This is for you + your child if:
• your adolescent is presenting with signs of excessive worry, sadness, moodiness, or sleep and appetite changes
