LPC, NCC, BC-TMH & Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Jacqueline, a Board-Certified National Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Board-Certified Telemental Health Provider, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional counseling adults, adolescents and children in Decatur, GA and the greater Atlanta area. Basically, with almost 20 years of clinical experience in mental health, I’ve found my purpose in helping people of all ages develop insight, understanding, and tools for the challenges they most struggle with.
I have discovered that the most effective way to accomplish this is by approaching my work within the context of relationship and treating the whole being, not just symptoms. Doing so addresses the psychological, spiritual, emotional, and social realities that make up the self. This means that I do not attempt to “fix” you or your problems. Rather, by way of meaningful and thoughtful communication, I support the time, energy and investment you are making in yourself and help you transform from the inside.
My work is derived from a unique blend of psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based principles - as well as healthy doses of humor. I encourage clients to:
• Consider the relationship between their mind and body
• Examine how early experiences may have influenced their present-day behavior
• Learn how those experiences contribute to the way they relate and connect to others
• Be open to developing new thought patterns for the sake of their well-being
• Take the necessary steps towards a more fulfilling, joyful, and balanced life
And behind all of my work is my drive to assist you in finding your way back to yourself and helping you restore balance in a way that is sustainable over time.
I work to understand the real-life context within which your symptoms occur. It means that I make a genuine effort to understand your personal story. It also means that I care about the culture with which you subscribe and work with an acute awareness of the importance of cultural identity. My approach to therapy is characterized by that of relationship. While letting them set the pace, I intentionally familiarize myself with my clients on a deep level that ultimately lends itself to a measurably enhanced level of care.
When you truly feel seen, trust emerges and the path to wellness begins. It is my goal to serve my clients with understanding, compassion, and authenticity.
One of the meanings associated with the rose (the flower that inspired our name) is confidentiality. The Latin expression ‘sub rosa,’ which translates literally to ‘under the rose,’ refers to something shared in secret. In Ancient Rome, a wild rose was placed at the entrance of a room to signify that confidential matters were being discussed. And while you may not find a rose on the handle of the room to the office, I too take confidentiality just as seriously.
All people have the capacity to heal, to discover meaning in the hardships of life, and to be free from patterns of thinking and being that no longer serve them. This is our inherent desire to thrive – to live life more fully. And if you need a little nudge, I’m there to encourage you.
I am privileged to be invited as a guest into your life. Ready to start your path to healing?
